BrandMade′s Brandwidth Logo Design
BrandMade′s logo and identity designs are works of art designed to communicate your brand and brand message clearly to your customers. These logos are design to be placed on your products, documentation, sales material, pens, t-shirts – anything that is valuable enough to have your name and image printed on it.

BrandMade has two levels of logo and identity solutions: SME Logo Design and Corporate Logo Design:

SME Logo Design

SME Logo Design has been made to meet your needs as a growing business in the community. You need a powerful visual that is easy to remember, easy to read, and can be used across cultures and geographic boundaries. The logo has to be something you and your employees are proud of, and can show off to clients and competitors alike.

Research

The process starts with an interview with you, the goals of your company, the style of your business and, of course the industry you are in. Also we will need to collect some information as to who you believe your biggest competitors are, as your logo needs to be distinctive and stand out among the crowd.

The biggest question we will ask you is: What three words would you use to define your company, your business, or your products? Such a simple question it may seem, but the answer to this needs to be accurate.

If your words are something like: quality, professional, creative – these are not specific enough to move on.

What kind of quality? Which aspect(s) of quality do you put into your products?

Professional: what is professional about your company? Do you wear a suit and tie every day to work? There might be more than that. For instance: What image are you trying to overcome? Are you a young business, or a young partner in the business? You may not want a “stodgy” logo like an insurance firm, but then again, you probably don’t want something that looks like a bar or nightclub.

Here is an example. I recently met with a builder who answered this “What three words” question with: quality. This is a typical answer. So I asked what was it about quality that he enjoyed so much, into which he put so much effort?

This builder over-specs everything he creates. If his client requests ½” bolts, he puts in ¾” bolts. He meticulously photographs every detail of the build. He guarantees his work. The better word he came up with was:

Craftsmanship

After that, I really did not need the other two words.

Process

After about 2 to 4 days, we will come back to you with at least 3 images for the first Creative Review. We promise at least 3, but in reality we usually supply more than that, unless we really believe the 3 to be accurate for your business.

The key here is: the designs are presented in grayscale. For many clients, this is a bit of a shock, and usually their reactions are a little lackluster on the first time through the pictures. So be prepared. However, colors can mask a great design, or a great concept – you may not like the colors presented, and so may not like the design or concept. Usually it is the second or third time through the review that clients really start looking at the DESIGNS, not just the lack of color.

From this point, we need to start getting into specifics – what aspects of the design do you like and what aspects don’t you like. Does the font represent what you want to communicate? Are the images solid enough, creative enough, or representing whatever aspect you need?

From there we go back, touchup or build up the designs based on your input. If there are major changes to be made, we come back with more grayscale. If the images were pretty close, we then come back with colors added to the logo. See our description on colors for more information.

This process happens again until you are satisfied with your logo.

Once this overall image and color design has been created, we can then design a style sheet for you to use in all of your customer communications, ensuring that your brand is clearly and consistently put across to your clients.

Or we can simply create templates for your PowerPoint presentations, letterhead, note pads, envelopes, etc. And business cards! Don’t have a spectacular new logo without spectacular new business cards. Make sure that your logo is not wasted!

Corporate Logo Design

The biggest difference between SME Logo Design and Corporate design is the amount of research that goes into the process. Plus, we develop a tagline which meets your promotional and customer loyalty needs. You will find that for the service we offer, our prices are extremely reasonable. But don’t confuse our pricing with our quality, just because we charge far less than US $25,000 for a logo does not mean we do any less of a job.

Research

The research that goes into a corporate design is much greater. The first thing we will need to do is interview your president or CEO. This is important to get the vision of where the company is, and where you are going. What are your best distinguishing features? Which part of excellence are you striving for?

The next step is to interview at least a couple of your executives to get a better understanding of your operations and business processes.

And finally, we would like to interview at least a few of your employees to get a feel of the workplace, to understand what it is like to wake up every day and produce the kind of work you aspire to. After all, a logo does not just represent a great company or a great leader; it represents all the great people who work for and with you.

Following this series of interviews, we will then start researching your competition, to see where they are, and what they are focusing on. This will give us a better feel for where you are positioned in the marketplace, to give us the understanding of not only where we should target the deign towards, but also give us some indications as to where we should target the design away from as well.

Process

After about 7 to 10 days, we will come back to you with at least 3 images for the first Creative Review. We promise at least 3, but in reality we usually supply more than that, unless we really believe the 3 to be accurate for your company.

Period.

We then will spend time to start researching other logos to make sure that this new logo does not too closely resemble another one in existence. Especially a logo of a competitor somewhere in the world.

While the logo is being designed, we are also working on taglines for your company, using the information we have gained in our research. This tagline will also fit the feel of the logo, making a consistent messaging campaign for your business. This tagline will not be generic, and will be very specific and appropriate to your customers, your business and your industry. In that order.

We then highly recommend that we create a style sheet for your company. This style sheet will determine the exact positioning, aspect ratios and colors for all of your communications, ensuring that your brand is clearly and consistently put across to your clients.
